Hyper-V VHD Disk Performance
A new whitepaper:  http://blogs.msdn.com/tvoellm/archive/2010/02.aspx details the VHD disk performance, but would like to add an additional must have component from Diskeeper here:

Windows Essential Business Server (EBS) Discontinued

EBS demise will now complete Microsoft's systematic removal of Security from Small & Mid-market products.  Back in 2008 Small Business Server Premimum had ISA removed, but EBS was to replace this shortcoming; using the new Threat Manangement Gateway (MBE).  Now Microsoft will replace all SKUs except TMG since no equivalent product exists.  It is important that the TMG (MBE) was really ISA with 64-bit shims to make it work on 64-bit hardware; which EBS required.
 
Don't ever believe the HYPE, it's a lie.
